When Should You See a Reflexologist?

There are many reasons one would want to visit a Reflexologist. The major benefit is stress reduction and relaxation.

A prospective client recently asked me why and when she should see a Reflexologist. My answer to her was as often as possible and why not!

The body is truly remarkable and has innate healing abilities. Stress creates many physical symptoms and a reflexology session may help to decrease stress thereby decreasing the related physical symptoms including headaches, muscular tension, and sleep disturbances just to name a few.

Reflexology for Muscle Tension

You do not need to have aches and pains, or other physical symptoms to experience benefits from reflexology. However, if there are physical symptoms you may find that reflexology helps in balancing the body allowing your symptoms to lessen or completely go away. Reflexology, which is an ancient art that has been practiced globally for thousands of years, is really starting to gain credibility in the holistic health field. Reflexologists believe the feet, hands, and ears have points that correspond to every other part of the body through the nerve pathways.

Reflexologists work a combination of hands, ears, and feet but the majority focus on the feet. If you have foot problems such as plantar fasciitis or neuropathy, a reflexology session may not only feel great but also help get rid of that pain or tingling numb feeling.

Another reason you may seek out a reflexologist is if you are looking for ways to live a healthy, joyful, balanced lifestyle. As previously mentioned, reflexologists understand that the body is capable of healing itself and they are just giving the body relaxation, rest, and time to correct any imbalances.

Reflexology has been proven to be effective in assisting many people of all ages. Typical sessions are 30, 60, or 90 minutes and only the socks and shoes need to be removed while you lay on a comfortable table. Some clients talk during their sessions and others zone out or fall asleep. Reflexology works either way. If you are looking for some quiet time to relax and de-stress, a reflexology session is a great way to achieve that. While looking for a Reflexologist, make certain you ask about their credentials. Many massage therapists have limited training in reflexology, and it is not at all the same as seeing a Nationally Certified Reflexologist.

It is my hope that you will check out a Reflexologist and see how Reflexology can change your life.
