Andrea offers many different types of Therapeutic Massage. Most often a combination of therapies are used to suit each individual’s needs. Whether you are looking for stress reduction and relaxation, you have a specific health concern, an injury, or chronic pain/tension, Massage Therapy may help.
Swedish Massage uses a firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation and ease muscle tension. It is the most common type of massage that will allow you to relax, unwind, and achieve a deep state of calm and peacefulness.
Specific techniques to stretch and repair the connective tissue between your muscles (fascia). It helps your body heal properly from injuries and can restore range of motion, and ease pain/tension.
Neuromuscular & Trigger Point Therapy
A deeper massage to focus on tension areas where you may feel “knots”. Specific pressure is applied to help release tight muscles and break up adhesions and scar tissue. May also help relieve muscle spasms, chronic pain, and increase range of motion.
Pregnancy massage focuses on addressing the special needs of the mama to be. Side-lying postures are used to prevent putting pressure on the abdomen. Relieve neck, back, hip pain and discomfort as your body changes. Ease headaches and hormonal changes. Promote stress reduction for you and your baby. This allows for your body to relax, and further allows for an easier labor and delivery.
Postpartum Massage and Reflexology
SO beneficial to take time to yourself after the baby is born. It’s not selfish! It’s so necessary! Help balance your hormones, ease muscle tension, help get back to your pre-baby body, help facilitate breastmilk production, helps you to relax and have that one hour of alone time!
Hot Stone Massage
Relax into a deeper state as warm basalt stones are used during the massage. This allows the muscles to relax more deeply. Used during the massage as well as placed along the body for a deeply calming and centering experience. 60/90 minute sessions available. Great for those chilly days to warm you up!
Oncology massage is very different from the massage you may have experienced prior to diagnosis. The goal is to create a space for soothing compassionate touch which can offer relief from anxiety and pain as well as bring about peace and relaxation. Having massage or reflexology a few days before or during chemotherapy may help negate side effects that some report such as nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.
The goal is to provide relaxation and comfort for those at end of life. Very soothing and relaxing. A great gift for the family to give to their loved one.
For your protection: If you are pregnant or under medical care you will be provided a release form to be completed by your health care provider prior to your initial visit.
